Skip line

A skip line is a specific type of line of dialogue that tells the game to continue through the conversation file to the next line without trying to load any cinematics for the skip line, usually because it doesn’t have any.

Comments, continues, and end nodes are all very common types of skip lines, but they can also be seen when multiple lines in the dialogue or conversation structure have been combined into a single cutscene or cinematic. The first line tells the game to play the full cinematic, and the following lines are skipped so the game won’t attempt to play them twice in a row. This is usually done for sequences with complex animations and/or camera movements, which couldn’t be achieved without visible jumps between lines if each line were played individually in sequence.

If you removed a link to a line but it still played in game, or added a link to a line but it skipped and played a following line instead, you’ve encountered a skip line.
