pyGFF

« Back to Glossary Index

pyGFF is an open-source python GFF editor, currently rehosted on the Nexus after the Bioware social site was put out to pasture. It’s the tool you’ll want in order to edit a vast majority of the files in Origins and DA2. If you’re ever in doubt it’s usually a good bet to try opening a file in pyGFF’s editor.exe first.

Modding DA2 with pyGFF

If you’re modding DA2, you will also need to download the fnv dump from the link above and import that through Settings → Import Strings. This will solve the hashes for DA2’s file names. If you want to mod DA2’s DLC, you will need to download the DA2 DLC filenames and import it the same way.
